Convive - A Contemporary Mediterranean RESTAURANT new to LS16
There is a stunning Lit entrance with wooden beams and lights to guide you into the entrance. The restaurant itself is a lot larger than i though it would be. Plenty of tables and room. I love the Marble tables surrounded with a copper strip, though the chair are quite odd they look like the leather has been reclaimed from old fashioned vehicles. I wouldn't put one in my house... but it is a nice overall effect for the restaurant.
To start with they immediately brought over a bowl of olives and some bread with pesto. Then we ordered around 5 small plates to have tapas style, while all the food was beautiful quality (except the baby back pork ribs were a little plain) they serve them on starter sized plates which is ok if you are just eating them as a starter however eating them as tapas there is literally no room on the table for them, and they never managed to move the olives or bread to they were still filling up the table. We quickly moved things out of the way and stacked plates to make room though I wish we hadn't had to.
We tried the following dishes:
Spanish Padron peppers fried with garlic and Maldon sea salt £4.50
Costillas de Cerdo £6.95 Cider braised baby back pork ribs
Ibérico chorizo £5.50 Braised in red wine and shallots (amazing)
Carpaccio of Galician beef fillet (GF) £7.95 Served with lemon infused rocket & Manchego salad
Greek lamb kebab with spiced crumb £6.50
